The competition
CanSat in Greece is a nationwide space competition organized by SPIN - Space Innovation, with the coordination of ESERO GREECE. Participants are tasked with designing and building an educational satellite, the size of a soft drink can, which will carry out a space mission envisioned by the team. The satellite is launched to an altitude of 1 km, integrated into a rocket constructed by SPIN, and then released from the rocket. After release, the satellite safely lands using a parachute, carrying out the mission chosen by the team.
The competition lasts for eight months from its announcement and has two categories: one for high school students, and one for college students. The winning high school team advances directly to the European competition CanSats in Europe, organized by the ESA.
